The 2021 Solheim Cup will remain in its current September date, despite the 2020 Ryder Cup being rearranged for the same month. The men's event was moved when it became clear there would be no crowds if it went ahead this year.

Instead it will now take place three weeks after the women's flagship event. Both tournaments will see Europe's top golfers hosted by their American counterparts.

"2021 is shaping up to be an incredible year for golf," LPGA commissioner Mike Whan told BBC Sport.

"We are excited for this double-header, to celebrate all the great golfers, male and female, who play for the USA and Europe."

Europe are the reigning Solheim Cup champions, having beaten the USA at Gleneagles in Scotland in 2019. Their defence of the trophy will take place at the Inverness Club, Ohio, on 4-6 September 2021.
