Spain midfielder Ona Batlle and German attacker Ivana Fuso have joined Manchester United on two-year contracts, both with an option for a further 12 months.

Batlle left Levante earlier in the summer when her contract expired, having started her career with spells in the Barcelona youth team and Madrid CF.

She told manutd.com: “It’s an honour and a pleasure to sign for Manchester United; to work with Casey [Stoney, the manager] and be a part of this team is a fantastic opportunity. To have the chance to come over to play in England and really push myself as a player is very exciting. I can’t wait to meet my new team-mates and help to contribute to as much success as I can.”

Fuso joins from Swiss side FC Basel having previously played for Freiburg in the German Frauen-Bundesliga. “I’m so happy to be here, it’s a dream to sign for a club like Manchester United. Casey is a great coach and I’m looking forward to working with her and the staff," Fuso said.

“It will be my first time playing in England, the league is very competitive and I know that being a part of this team will help me develop further as a player."
