Hewson leads the way in Rose Ladies Series final

Alice Hewson dominated the field in the opening round of the Rose Ladies Series final at North Hants Golf Club, finishing four shots in front on four-under-par.

Whitney Hillier and Sian Evans were Hewson's closest challengers on level par. Overall series leader Georgia Hall was a further two strokes back on two-over-par, alongside Charley Hull.

The three-round final is being played at three different venues with the action moving on to The Berkshire on Thursday. The top 35 players plus ties after Round Two will then qualify for the final round at Wentworth on Friday.
