FA Cup prize money ring-fenced for women's game

The prize fund for next season's Women's FA Cup has been protected despite a 50 percent cut in prize money for the men's event.

According to The Times, the Football Association has effectively ring-fenced the allocation for both the remaining rounds of this year's competition - which will resume at the quarter-final stage in September - and the 2020-21 season.

The winners of next season's men's FA Cup will only receive half of the £3.6 million Arsenal collected for lifting the cup earlier this month. But despite the protected prize money, the winners of the Women's FA Cup will still only receive £25,000.
