Continental League Cup review: Miedema nets four for Arsenal

Following defeat to Chelsea in their opening group game, Arsenal returned to form with a 4-0 victory against London City Lionesses. Dutch striker Vivianne Miedema scored all four goals against the Women's Championship side.

Manchester City followed up their victory against Everton in the FA Cup final by beating Liverpool 3-0. Everton were due to play Manchester United but the match was postponed when their Walton Hall Park ground was deemed unsafe due to wind damage.

Another game was called off, Brighton forced to stand down at the last minute when a staff member tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the fixture against Charlton. In the same group, West Ham beat Reading 3-0.

In Group A, Durham were 6-0 winners at Sheffield United. Leicester got the better of Blackburn Rovers in a 5-2 thriller in Group E whilst London Bees beat Lewes 1-0 in the night's remaining fixture.
