Women's Super League review: Ducks stop play at Brighton whilst Arsenal return to the European places

Arsenal were able to take advantage of a slip-up from Manchester United to return to the Champions League places thanks to a 4-0 thrashing of Bristol City.

Vivianne Miedema scored twice, with further goals from Danielle van de Donk and Beth Mead, as the Gunners leapfrogged United into third place.

Brighton were 1-0 winners against United, Inessa Kaagman scoring the only goal from the penalty spot. The match was also interrupted when two ducks invaded the pitch during the second half, leading to a delay of several minutes.

It was a case of as-you-were for the leaders Chelsea, who hammered Birmingham 6-0. Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby maintained their Champions League form by scoring five goals between them with Guro Reiten alson on the scoresheet.

Manchester City kept the gap at the top to just two points with a 3-0 victory at Tottenham. It was City's 12th consecutive Women's Super League win.

Aston Villa remain bottom of the table after losing 3-1 to Everton.
