BBC increases its Women’s Premiership rugby coverage

In another big step for the profile of women’s rugby in England, the BBC has announced a deal to broadcast Premiership Women’s Rugby matches in the 2025-26 and 2025-27 seasons. One live match per week, plus one of the semi-finals and the final itself. will be streamed live on the BBC Sport website and on BBC iPlayer.

The BBC has been boosting it’s commitment to the women’s game in recent years, across the Women’s Six Nations as well as Premiership rugby. The broadcaster also has exclusive rights to this summer’s Women’s Rugby World Cup which gets under way on 22nd August and will take place across eight English cities ahead of the 27th September final at Twickenham.

BBC Sport is the home of women’s rugby in 2025, with coverage building from the Women’s Six Nations and Premiership Women’s Rugby to the exclusive broadcast of the Women’s Rugby World Cup this summer. The tournament kicks off on 22 August, with hosts England opening at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light. This 10th edition of the competition will be staged across eight cities nationwide, culminating in the final at the iconic Twickenham Stadium in London on 27 September.

Nine clubs will compete in this season’s Women’s Premiership which kicks off on 23rd August and concludes with the final on 11th October 2025. Gloucester-Hartpury triumphed in the2023-24 season, retaining the Premiership title which they also won the previous season.
