Brazil have withdrawn their bid to host the 2023 Women's World Cup.

The country, which staged the men's tournament in 2016, will instead support the bid of fellow South Americans, Colombia.

Japan and a joint bid from Australia and New Zealand are the other contenders. FIFA will make a final decision on who will host the tournament on 25 June.

The Brazilian Football Confederation said: "Because of the fiscal and economic austerity brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, [the government] thought it would not be recommended to sign the [financial] guarantees asked for by Fifa."
