England midfielder, Jill Scott, has agreed to become a player-coach at Manchester City as part of a new two-year contract with the club.

She will assist new head coach, Gareth Taylor. "I'm absolutely thrilled to have Jill not only sign a new contract but also begin her professional coaching journey here at Manchester City," he said.

City finished second in this year's curtailed Women's Super League despite being top of the table when the competition was suspended in March.

Scott will remain an integral part of the team on the pitch, having already made 167 appearances for the club in all competitions.
