There has been plenty of transfer activity as clubs get ready for the start of the new Women's Super League and Championship seasons.

Liverpool have recruited goalkeeper Rachael Laws after the 29-year-old was released by Reading last month.

Manager Vicky Jepson hopes having an experience keeper in the squad can help her side return to the Super League at the first attempt following their relegation last season.

"It gives us something to aim for, something to chase," she said. "It's not going to be an easy season, it's a difficult league to get out of."

Everton have picked up England U21 star Poppy Pattinson from Bristol City. The left-back has agreed a two-year deal.

Aston Villa have announced their second signing of the summer with Anita Asante joining from champions Chelsea. The England defender joins former Birmingham City star Chloe Arthur in moving to Villa following their promotion to the Super League.
