England bowler Sophie Ecclestone starred as her Trailblazers side won their first Women's T20 Challenge title in Sharjah. The Trailblazers beat reigning champions Supernovas by 16 runs in the final.
It was a low-scoring contest, Trailblazers losing seven wickets for just 17 runs following a good start from Smriti Mandhana and Deandra Dottin to set a total of 118 for eight.
Supernovas were always behind the run rate and Ecclestone was trusted with the final over, restricting the 2018 and 2019 winners to 102 for seven.
The competition is the women's equivalent of the Indian Premier League but only three teams were able to compete in the event in Sharjah due to coronavirus withdrawals.
