The thrill of Test Cricket has once again taken centre-stage in the changeable conditions of an England summer.

After an enthralling 3-0 series win for England men’s team over New Zealand, the women are serving up another cracking contest in Somerset.

A brilliant century from Marizanne Kapp hauled South Africa to a respectable first innings’ total of 284 and the Proteas were in pole position on day two, as they reduced England to a concerning 121/5.

England needed a partnership and the duo of Nat Sciver and debutant Alice Davidson-Richards grabbed the opportunity to construct a superb 207, lifting England to a position of 328/6 at the close.

Sciver remains unbeaten on 119 and, while Davidson-Richards fell to the final ball of the day, her inspired 107 made her the first England woman to register a Test century on debut since 1986. The 207-run partnership also equalled the second-highest for England in a Test match.

All to play for on day three.
