As the Wimbledon Championships started this week at The All England Club in SW19, ellesse is giving you the chance to be a 'Local Tennis Hero' by entering a competition to win a tennis court refresh and launch event for your local community.

The winning entry will see their nominated local community tennis court get a complete refresh, a renovation including new paintwork design, lines and netting. There's also an opportunity for a local artist to design the court. Once complete, the winning court will also receive a launch event to celebrate the reopening with the attendance ellesse tennis ambassador, Paul Jubb, rising tennis star, 2019 NCAA winner and five-time ITF World Tennis Tour title winner.

To enter the competition simply submit an entry at www.ellesserefresh.com with your reason why your local court should win. The competition runs from 27th June 2022 to 10th July 2022. Entries will be judged and shortlisted by ellesse tennis ambassadors including Paul Jubb, Freya Christie, wheelchair tennis star and world number one, Alfie Hewett.

Speaking before his first match at Wimbledon this week, Paul Jubb said, "I'm really excited for Wimbledon, I'm feeling many emotions but they are all good ones, and can't wait to get out there. This is a great initiative by ellesse, tennis is a sport for all and most people start off playing on local courts, so it's essential that the facilities are not only fit for purpose but also engaging for community use. If your local court needs some attention, enter this competition today. I look forward to the launch event and having a hit out with the winners".

"ellesse has a rich heritage in tennis supporting the likes of Boris Becker, Chris Evert, Tommy Haas, Pat Cash, Guillermo Vilas and more recently Johanna Konta, Alfie Hewett, Paul Jubb, Freya Christie and Ryan Peniston. We want these players and the ellesse brand to be the inspiration for the next generation, to get people active by playing tennis and this starts with engaging the local community, younger audiences and having facilities to be proud of". Says Jennie Bianco, Head of Marketing, Focus Brands.
