Record crowd sees London Pulse win the Netball Super League title

London Pulse captured their first Netball Super League title with a 53-45 victory over reigning champions Loughborough Lightning in the July 6th 2025 Grand Final at the O2 Arena, in front of a record-breaking crowd.

Despite an early lead from Lightning, Pulse quickly settled and never looked back. Their relentless defensive pressure, spearheaded by Halimat Adio and Funmi Fadoju, disrupted Lightning's rhythm and paved the way for their dominance.

The first quarter was tightly contested, with both teams struggling to convert opportunities. A crucial Super Shot from Olivia Tchine gave Pulse a four-goal cushion at the first break. Lightning responded strongly in the second quarter, with Ella Clark sinking multiple Super Shots to cut Pulse’s lead from eight to two by halftime.

In another landmark moment, Pulse coach Sam Bird introduced 17-year-old Gracie Smith after the break, making her the youngest Grand Final player in NSL history. Lightning tried to mount a comeback in the second half, but two missed Super Shots proved costly as the Pulse held their nerve to maintain their lead. As the final whistle blew, the team erupted in celebration, completing a remarkable journey from league newcomers to champions in just six years. The win marked a historic moment, making Pulse the seventh club to lift the NSL trophy.

The 9,326 supporters in attendance represented a record for an NSL event and the biggest netball crowd in England since 2002.
