Sport England are encouraging women to incorporate movement into their routine in a way that reflects the reality of their everyday lives.

The organisation's groundbreaking This Girl Can returns with a powerful new campaign, We Like the Way You Move which they say is 'rewriting the narrative of what women getting active looks like and championing women from underrepresented groups.'

Sport England believes that many women do not feel like they belong in the world of sport and physical activity and the programme show practical ways of getting started down the road to a more active, healthier life.

Just 10 minutes of movement boosts your energy, sleep, confidence and mood.  And for the women who have been left out of the sport and physical activity space, starting with 10 minutes of movement is a brilliant way to build confidence.

The campaign gives three examples of easy ways to move for 10 minutes, including activities under the banner of March It Out, Five Senses Walk, and Dance Like Nobody's Watching. The key is that they all require no fitness gear, gym or special equipment, making them accessible to all.

To get the message out, Sport England have created a TV advertisement in which 13 street-cast women from across England take centre stage abd are shown moving in ways that reflect their real lives – from family bike rides, dancing in the kitchen and pregnancy yoga, to wheelchair rugby, boxing and walking football.

Soundtracked by a reimagined version of the BodyRockers’ iconic track I Like the Way, the campaign celebrates the different ways women choose to move for themselves and highlights the immediate benefits this can bring.
