Birmingham City have announced the arrival of former Sheffield United manager Carla Ward as their new head coach.

Ward left the Blades last month having led them to a second-placed finish in the Women's Championship. Birmingham finished 11th in the Women's Super League, avoiding relegation on a points-per-game basis.
